What do you do when a haircut goes bad? What do you do if the cut goes really bad? What do you do when the cut goes really bad but you get a chance to find out where the person is spiritually?
The haircut is in need of repair. The young hairdresser is in her first month of cutting hair. After I commented that no one had ever used electric clippers on the top she switched to scissors. That probably threw her off even more. She was probably well on her way to giving me a successful buzz cut. Not what I wanted but the beauty of hair is it grows back.
While she was shampooing my hair she asked about our church. That was a great opening. I asked if she had a church home. That is a question simply to get you to the next question. How is your relationship with Jesus Christ? That is where I really found out where she was. She let me know that she is a long way from God. She is going through a difficult time.
So what do I do about my haircut? I go back and allow her to try again. Try to even everything out. Let her know I’m praying for her. Let her know that my wife and I would love to study with her if she thinks that will help.
In the end it is good to be reminded it isn’t a bad haircut at all. It was just what I needed to minister in the name of Jesus Christ.
